Your Hypothalamus Influences Autoimmunity
So how does the hypothalamus influence autoimmune disorders?
Let’s talk about it.
A growing body of research shows that neuro-immune-endocrine alterations may precede autoimmune diseases by several years. If you’ve been following my channel, you know that the hypothalamus controls the neuro-immune-endocrine system.
It’s undisputed that triggers like toxins, infections, and stress influence the acute inflammation of autoimmune disease. Yet it’s hypothalamus dysfunction that contributes to the chronic inflammation of autoimmune disease.
The hypothalamus is incredibly important to the maintenance of homeostasis playing a vital role in systemic and localized autoimmune disorders.
While stress is a huge factor, triggering autoimmunity and worsening symptoms, it’s well known that disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis often proceed and worsen autoimmune diseases.
Sex hormones influence autoimmune disorders too. Women with rheumatoid arthritis tend to have low serum levels of DHEA, cortisol, and testosterone. All of which increases inflammatory cytokines. These low hormone levels have been noted 12 years or more before diagnosis.
It’s also known that patients with hyperprolactinemia can develop Graves disease, Lupus, and Sjogren’s syndrome. High prolactin levels proceed autoimmune diseases by five years or more. In patients with rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, androgens convert to estradiol in an accelerated manner.
Circadian information reaches immune tissues mainly through the nocturnal patterns of the autonomic system and the endocrine system, both of which are controlled by the hypothalamus.
Therefore, your hypothalamus contributes to adaptive immune competence by maintaining prolactin, growth hormone, and vasopressin levels.
There is a definite connection between hypothalamus dysfunction and autoimmune disorders.
You can optimize hypothalamic function and improve autoimmune symptoms by supporting your hypothalamus nutraceutically with Genesis Gold®.
On the other hand, for my autoimmune patients, I recommended adding extra Sacred Seven® amino acids to their Genesis Gold® to hasten the healing of their hypothalamus and lower auto-antibodies.
